Buying Bluetooth Technology
If you are looking to buy a new mobile phone, fridge, digital
video camera, monkey analyzer etc., then you might want your
new electronic gadget to be future-compatible.
One of the most exciting technologies to pop out of the insane
technology boom of the 90's is called 'Bluetooth'.
What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth wireless technology is an ' industry standard' which
can be used by manufacturers and software designers to allow
'different things' (within a 10 meter area) to talk to each
other without the need for wires.
Example: Film your Granny in front of the Leaning Tower
of Pisa using a BlueTooth digicam. Then zap it, straight from
the cam, to your sister in Australia using a 'Bluetooth' mobile
phone.
Because Ericsson (who first investigated the idea in 1994) welcomed
co-operation with other major companies, the same technology
has been used in a vast array of new products.
This means that when you buy your next electronic product, it
makes sense to ensure that it holds Bluetooth technology - you
don't want your fridge to be a 'wallflower' when everything
else is having a lively discussion!
We have set up this (non-exhaustive) list to help you 'choose
for the future'!
